The Author
Aban Nesta (casually referred as “Aban”). Born in Bandung on August 14th, 1977, now resides in the southern part of Bandung and works as a web designer at IT company.
Before getting stranded at Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Unpad in 1995, he had studied in SDN 2 Babakan Tarogong Bandung, SMP Negeri 1 Banjaran and SMA Negeri 4 Bandung. Aban is a true AC Milan fans and alternative music lovers (as long as an anti RNB & Hiphop). He’s also crazy about Luna Maya and Jeong Ryeo Won. He loves reading books, from religions, philosophy, politics, to comicbooks. The most common among them are books by Amien Rais and Emha Ainun Nadjib.
The Philosophy
My Unconscious Mind is sphere to share things that rage inside a mind of a guy called Aban.
The Inspirations
The greatest psychological inspiration comes, naturally, from his beloved wife, Pipih Puspitasari, a teaching staff at SMP Tunas Baru Ciparay and his lovely daughter, Najla Raisa Maharani.
Technical inspiration comes from many people, chief among them:
- Dede Ariwibowo and S. Kunto “Wowox” Adi Wibowo (both of them are his college-mates), who introduced Photoshop as something more than a porn-editor.
- Putu Andayani Prasuti Pradnyana (ex-ITB’s Architectural Engineering student who last wrote from Aussie), who pinched his interests in exploring the WWW (as a medium more than just downloading porn).
- Aldri Wilza (an ITB’s Physics Engineering alumnus), who taught him HTML.
- Indrawati Rochijat, who “forced” him to blog.
- Amelia Elizabeth Levitzky, who has been my e-wife in e-world.
Worth mentioning are Diki Andeas, Thomas Arie Setiawan, Vincentius Joseph, Ilham Poetra Nasution, Bhima Bramantika, and Jeffrey Zeldman; people whom he considered mentors in the worldwide web. From these people, he usually monitors new updates about website technology, tips, and tricks; questions; or merely “steals” the science of weblog and internet.
The Other Side
He’s very addicted playing massive online social strategy game and Football Manager 2010. He was the former president of eIndonesia for February 2009 and he’s still active organizing erepublik community meeting.
The Versions
For those who care: version naming of My Unconscious Mind consists of Version name, Blogging year and Version number.
For example: Aban V.3.1 means “Aban blogged in the third year using his first version.” (Current version: Version 5.0)

The Tools
Before started using Wordpress, aban had utilized Blogger, B2 and pMachine to publish his subconscious mind. Other softwares he uses are Editplus for coding, Adobe Photoshop CS for image retouching and XAMPP for local server testing.
